The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has said a total of 51,447 intending pilgrims successfully beat the deadline for registration of the 2024 hajj under the government quota. Kaduna state topped the list with 4,493 intending pilgrims, Sokoto came next with 3,643, Kebbi occupied third highest with 3,419, while 3,057 registered from Kano. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has escalated its legal pursuit of former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor Godwin Emefiele, filing 26 new charges related to abuse of office and corruption against him.
