The Nigeria Police Command in Rivers, has denied claims that its personnel deliberately attacked Gov. Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers during his visit to the state House of Assembly complex in Port Harcourt. Fubara alleged that some policemen shot, tear-gassed and used water cannons on him and his aides while on his way to assess the arsonist-damaged state parliament building on Monday. A Federal High Court in Abuja has given former Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele, until Jan. 25 to appear in court to explain circumstances surrounding the 53 million dollar-judgment debt arising from the Pars Club refund.
