The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), has thwarted an attempts to smuggle into Nigeria 98 cartons containing 5,122,900 pills of Tramadol 225mg with an estimated street value of about N3.7 billion. Nigeria has experienced a concerning surge in diphtheria cases, with a total of 836 confirmed cases and 80 deaths recorded between May and June 2023. This alarming data was revealed in the diphtheria situation report released by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Saturday, according to a Premium Times report. The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has strongly voiced its opposition to the proposed increase in school fees by tertiary institutions across the country.
