The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Oyo Sector Command has said that about 6,138 driver’s licence were yet to be collected in the state. Professor Florence Obi, Vice Chancellor of the University of Calabar, has approved the appointment of Dr. Rose Ugbe as the Acting Dean, Faculty of Law. The Managing Director, Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority (NSIA), Mr Aminu Sadiq has disclosed that the agency has directed over $500 million towards domestic infrastructure initiatives, along with a significant investment of over $1 billion in third-party projects. Peter Ekemezie, a lecturer at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, has been sentenced to six months in prison for publishing defamatory statements against Professor Alex Asigbo. Several Nigerian states are grappling with unexpected hikes in petrol prices, going beyond the officially adjusted rates after subsidies. According to the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) report titled “Premium Motor Spirit (Petrol) Price Watch” for July 2023, Borno state topped the price chart at N657.27 per litre, overshooting the post-subsidy adjusted official price of N600.35 per litre for that region by 9.5 percent.
