It is reported that Ehie, a known supporter of Governor Similanayi Fubara, had previously hindered efforts to initiate impeachment proceedings against the governor. The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has revealed its plans for an industrial action, consisting of strikes and street protests, aimed at the Imo State government, set to begin on Wednesday, November 1, 2023. Rivers State House of Assembly Chamber has been set on fire,  by suspected arsonist. The fire coincides with rumors circulating about a purported plan to impeach Governor Similanayi Fubara. According to sources, the arsonist gained access to the chamber on Sunday night, setting it ablaze. The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted sunny and thundery weather conditions from Monday to Wednesday across the country. The Police Command in Enugu State has smashed a child-stealing syndicate and arrested a suspect at Igogoro village in Enugu-Ezike community of Igbo-Eze North Local Government Area of the state. This is contained in a statement, issued by the Command’s Spokesman, DSP Daniel Ndukwe, on Sunday in Enugu. NDLEA has intercepted more than six tons of skunk in Ondo, Oyo, Lagos, Edo and Gombe states. Its spokesman, Mr Femi Babafemi stated in Abuja on Sunday that 2,197kg of skunk were recovered in four interdictions in parts of Ondo State within four days. Lagos State Government reopened Alaba International Market and some markets at the Trade Fair Complex, Ojo, on Saturday. Government shut the markets earlier because of improper waste management and other environmental infractions.
