The Lagos State Police Command, in collaboration with health officials, has commenced the process of exhuming the remains of the late singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad.
Mohbad passed away on September 12, 2023, and was interred in the Ikorodu area of Lagos the following day.
His untimely demise prompted outrage from his fans, who took to the streets in Lagos, Ogun States, and other parts of the country, demanding a thorough investigation to uncover the circumstances surrounding his death.
Following his demise, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kayode Egbetokun issued an order for a forensic investigation to ascertain the cause of his death.

In response to the IGP’s directive, Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Idowu Owohunwa, assembled a ten-member team, which includes a pathologist, to conduct the exhumation and investigation into Mohbad’s passing.
CP Owohunwa led the team to the burial site and is also scheduled to visit Mohbad’s father at his residence in Ikorodu.
Benjamin Hundeyin, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed the ongoing exhumation and stated that a team of health officials from the state’s Ministry of Health is involved in the process.
“The exhumation is currently ongoing. We have here a team of health officials from the state ministry of health led by CP Owohunwa. The CP is also expected to visit Mohbad’s father later in the day,” Hundeyin added.
