Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, the national chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), has revealed that former Rivers State governor Nyesom Wike is prepared to cooperate with the party.
Ganduje made this statement during a meeting at the APC national Secretariat in Abuja, where he was visited by Simon Lalong, the former governor of Plateau State.
Regarding his recent meeting with Wike, who is a minister-designate from the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ganduje explained, “You know Wike is a honourable minister-designate; so he came, we discussed because I was looking for him to congratulate him on that and also he came to congratulate me.
“We discussed that when he becomes a minister fully, he will work very hard to move the ministry forward. He is ready to cooperate.”

Ganduje also mentioned that discussions were ongoing with certain opposition parties about merging their structures with the APC in anticipation of the 2027 general elections.
In another development, supporters of the newly appointed deputy national chairman (North), Hon. Ali Bukar Dalori, have expressed optimism that his appointment will contribute to healing the party’s internal divides.
Dalori took the position previously held by Senator Abubakar Kyari, who is now a minister-designate.
