Workers in Katsina State have expressed their backing for the proposed nationwide protest by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), scheduled to take place tomorrow (Wednesday).
Comrade Hussaini Hamisu Danduna, the state chairman of the NLC, conveyed the union’s stance after its state executive meeting held at the Labour House in Katsina.
He said the decision complied with the directive of the national body for all states to mobilise their members for the proposed protest.

The chairman said, “Katsina would not be exceptional, we are going to join all other states and observe the protest on August 2, 2023.
“Our prayer and hope is for the government to see reason in what the NLC is trying to do, we are not in any way trying to cause problems to the workers, but we are trying to find a solution to the problem that Nigerians have found themselves in.”
He urged the government to provide palliative buses to cushion the transportation challenges the workers are going through, adding that the government should also intensify efforts to fix Nigeria’s refineries to reduce the cost of fuel in the country.
