The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) says it will partner with Kano Road and Traffic Agency (KAROTA) to enforce sanity and security on major roads in Kano.
The FRSC Sector Commander in Kano State, Mr Ibrahim Abdullahi, made the disclosure when the Managing Director of the KAROTA, Mr Faisal Mahmud-Kabir and his senior management, paid him a courtesy visit in his office.
Abdullahi said that the partnership would enhance road safety policy formulation and boost sanity on major roads across the state.
He said: “Many tricycle operators are underage and lack knowledge and training on traffic rules and regulations.
“The agency needs to train and retrain their staff members to enable them to continue to coordinate motorists on all the roads in the state.”
The state FRSC boss further applauded KAROTA for its contributions toward ensuring good road usage in the state.
Earlier, the KAROTA boss said he was at the FRSC command to seek for improved synergy between the two organisations.
Mahmud-Kabir pledged to restore public confidence in KAROTA and its personnel by making sure that road users obeyed traffic rules for smooth vehicular movements.
He further said that the ultimate goal of the agency is to record zero fatality on Kano roads during his reign and at all times.
