The Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone 1, AIG Ahmad Ammani, on Thursday, decorated 11 police officers with their newly promoted ranks during a ceremony held in his office.
While addressing the newly promoted officers, AIG Ammani congratulated them and urged them to continue exhibiting exemplary conduct for their subordinates to emulate. He emphasized the importance of their roles in ensuring peace, stability, law, and order across Nigeria.
“I want to congratulate you on these achievements and remind you that each promotion comes with added responsibility. You must work hard to prove yourselves worthy of this promotion,” AIG Ammani stated.

He acknowledged the Police Service Commission for approving the promotions based on recommendations by the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun.
In his remarks, Sheikh Aminu Ibrahim Daurawa, Commander General of the Hisba Board, highlighted the importance of collaboration between Hisba operatives and the Nigeria Police to ensure security and peace in the state.
Sheikh Daurawa commended the strong partnership between the Hisba Board and the Nigeria Police, stressing their mutual support in achieving a safe environment. He further urged the government to prioritize the welfare of police officers and their families, recognizing their vital role in maintaining law and order.
Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Magaji Musa Majia, Commander of the Special Protection Unit at Zone 1 Headquarters, disclosed that the officers promoted included one Superintendent of Police (SP) elevated to Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP), five Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) promoted to Superintendents of Police (SPs), and five Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs) elevated to Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs).
The event served as a reminder of the increased responsibility that comes with promotion, as well as the commitment required to ensure peace and security in the nation.
