Amids allegation of adultery, Governor Malam Umar A. Namadi, has directed immediate suspension of his commissioner in charge of Special Duties, Auwalu Dalladi Sankara.
The Governor has also constituted a panel of investigation into the arrest of Sankara and supposed involvement in the act of adultery.
Kano State Hisbah Board confirmed the arrest of Sankara on Friday after he was caught along a married woman at a secluded area in the state.
Sankara, a serving commissioner for Special Duties, in Jigawa state and son to former Senator was said to have been found in the act in his vehicle parked in uncompleted building.
Hisbah Director General, Abba Sufi who confirmed to journalists disclosed that the Jigawa politician was arrested along the married woman after an intelligence information.
Sufi explained that Hisbah swong into action to uncover the illicit act after receiving series of complaints about the act of adultery from a younger brother to the husband of the woman involved.
Sankara, in a statement on Saturday claimed he was not arrested by Hisbah just as he threatened to take legal action against those peddling the story.
However, a statement by Ismail Ibrahim Dutse, Public Relations Officer, Office of the Secretary to the Government of Jigawa State said Sankara has been suspended.
According to the statement, Sankara’s suspension comes in light of recent claims that necessitate a thorough examination and to ensure transparency and uphold the integrity of the State Administration.
“The SSG emphasized the commitment to accountability and adherence to ethical standards in governance by Governor Malam Umar A. Namadi.
“The suspension is a precautionary measure intended to facilitate a fair investigation. We take all allegations seriously and are dedicated to upholding the trust of Jigawa citizens in the government.” statement reads.
