There is palpable apprehension as senior superintendent at Kano anti-graft Abubakar Auwal Rurum, is reported missing.
Anti-graft officer, was said to have left his Rurum hometown in Rano local government area of Kano on Thursday to visit a friend in neighboring Doguwa town and has since not returned home.
Nazifi Aminu, a younger brother to the missing officer who disclosed the development to PeoplesPen24 said the case has been reported to Rano divisional police headquarters.
“Auwal Rurum has been missing since Thursday. He left to visit a friend in Doguwa and hasn’t been reachable since. Calls to his phone lines aren’t going through,” the family member revealed.
Though, Aminu could not ascertain whether or not his brother was kidnapped, pleaded with the public for any information regarding Rurum’s whereabouts.
Inquiry on the ugly development, whether it was a case of kidnapping, any clue to Rurum’s whereabout in the last 48 hours, did not yield positive outcome.
This is because calls and text messages sent to the Chairman, Kano State Public Complaint and Anti-Corruption Commission (PCACC) Barr. Muhuyi Magagi Rimin-Gado did not get a response.
