The Court of Appeal in Abuja has rejected the appeal challenging the election of Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed of Bauchi State.
Following the Independent National Electoral Commission’s declaration of Mohammed as the winner of the March 18 gubernatorial election, AVM Sadique Abubakar (rtd), the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, contested the results.
Despite the tribunal’s affirmation of Mohammed’s election, Abubakar pursued the case to the Appeal Court.

In a unanimous decision on Friday, a three-member panel ruled that Abubakar’s appeal lacked merit.
Delivering judgement on Friday, Justice Chidiebere Nwaoma Uwa, stated that Abubakar and the APC failed to substantiate allegations of malpractices and non-compliance with the Electoral Act, 2022 against Governor Mohammed and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
