The first batch of 150 out of 1,001 foreign students sponsored by the Kano State Government have departed to India through Malam Aminu Kano International Airport, on Friday.
GOOD EVENING NIGERIA reports that the parents and relatives of beneficiaries of the foreign scholarship, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf in company of Sen. Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso has today, Friday, bade farewell to the students.
Addressing the beneficiaries, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf urged them to protect the interest of Kano State Government and that of their parents by concentrating on the studies to justify the huge financial commitments made for the scheme.

The Governor, according to a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, Alh Yusuf, said Sen. Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso fmsowed the seed that gave birth to the programme in the state.
In his words at the airport, Sen. Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso, tasked the departing students to be good ambassadors of Kano, Nigeria and the Kwankwasiyya movement wherever they found themselves and remain helpful to one another during their stay in the overseas countries.
The NNPP 2023 flag bear maintained that the previous exercise has yielded positive results hoping that the resumption of the foreign postgraduate scheme will produce such human resources needed for the state and the nation in general.
