The Kano State Government says it plans to upgrade facilities at the Hisbah board headquarters to provide conducive atmosphere for the actualisation of its mandate.
Governor Abba Kabir-Yusuf, said this when he paid an unscheduled visit to the board’s headquarters in Kano on Monday.
He said the visit was to access the state of the structures and facilities at the headquarters for upgrading.
”Most of the structures and materials are dilapidated and this is a major setback to the board activities,’’ he said.
He said that the board was saddled with responsibility of promoting good morals in the society as well as preventing immorality and bad deeds among the people.

Kabir-Yusuf said that there was need to provide necessary facilities at the headquarters to motivate the staff for better output.
The governor commended the board for its dedication in eradicating societal vices across the state.
Speaking, Sheikh Aminu Ibrahim-Daurawa, the Commander-General of the board, lauded the governor for the visit.
He said preparations had reached advanced stage for the state mass wedding, saying that 1,800 intending couples had been shortlisted out of the 4,000 that applied.
He said that the couples were undergoing medical screening as part of the requirements for the wedding.
