“The police in particular occupy a central position in achieving this goal,” he said.
“We are working in about eight states of the federation, and Katsina represents the northwest zone,” he said.
He commended the state government for establishing the gender court which accelerates cases affecting girls and women.
“There are less women in detention presently unlike in the past.
“The credit goes to the civil society observatory team which we formed to work with relevant stakeholders, in achieving this goal.
“Our advocacy has made the state, review relevant laws to make the implementation effective,” he said.
Maduama.said that all the feats were achieved within two years of the project.

NAN reports that the ACJA which was signed into law in May 2015, has a 495-section law divided into 49 parts, providing for the administration of criminal justice and for related matters in the courts of the Federal Capital Territory and other Federal Courts in Nigeria.
With the ACJA, Nigeria now has a unique and unified law applicable in all federal courts and with respect to offences contained in Federal Legislations.
The law repeals the erstwhile Criminal Procedure Act as applied in the South and the Criminal Procedure (Northern states) Act, which applied in the North and the Administration of Justice Commission Act.
NAN reports that all the 36 States of the Federation have passed into Law the Administration of Criminal Justice Law (ACJL), which is a domestication of the ACJA.
