The Federal College of Agricultural Produce Technology (FCAPT), Kano, has matriculated 6,000 students into its part-time programs during the institution’s 3rd matriculation ceremony.
Speaking at the event, the Provost of the College, Dr. Muhammad Yusha’u Gwaram, urged the newly admitted students to uphold good character throughout their academic journey. He emphasized that learning is best achieved when combined with discipline, ensuring students become valuable members of society in the future.
“The essence of this gathering is to familiarize you with the rules and regulations of the college and to encourage you to avoid behaviors that contradict societal norms,” Gwaram stated.

In her remarks, the Director of the Consultancy Services Unit, Hajiya Maiwada Ahmad, welcomed the students, who were admitted into various National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) programs. She highlighted that the part-time program is designed to provide accessible and quality education to working professionals without disrupting their regular work schedules.
“This event marks your official entry into the FCAPT family and the beginning of an exciting academic journey. Learning and good character go hand in hand, so I urge you to maintain discipline and make the most of this golden opportunity,” she advised.
Addressing the students, the Deputy Provost, Dr. Bashir Barau, delivered a speech titled “Navigating Academic Pursuits,” aimed at preparing their minds for the challenges and responsibilities of higher education.
The 3rd matriculation ceremony was attended by students, parents, faculty members, and representatives from civil society organizations in Kano.
FCAPT, with its main campus located in Hotoro, is a federal government-owned institution dedicated to advancing agricultural education and technology in Nigeria.
