The Munfarka Traders Association in Kantin Kwari Market, Kano State, has honored the Managing Director of Kwari Market, Ambassador Hamisu Sa’ad Dogon Nama, in recognition of his dedication and contributions to the market’s development.

Speaking on the occasion, the chairman of the association, Yusif Yusif, emphasized that the recognition was a way to appreciate Dogon Nama’s tireless efforts in transforming the market.

“At this juncture, I am using this opportunity to call on the ‘Governor of the Masses’ to double his efforts in our market by introducing new ideas that will elevate it to a higher level,” Yusif stated.

He also extended his gratitude to the Executive Governor of Kano State, Engr. Abba Kabir Yusif, for appointing a leader who understands and prioritizes the needs of the Kantin Kwari Market community.

In response, Amb. Hamisu Dogon Nama expressed his gratitude to the association for the recognition and assured traders that the government is committed to addressing their concerns.

“As you all know, Kwari Market is one of the historic textile markets in Africa. In this 2025, people will begin to witness significant improvements, including enhanced security, full service network, solar power installations, better waste management, modernized market gates, and the introduction of e-commerce services to facilitate smooth business transactions,” Hamisu Dogon Nama said.

He further urged traders to continue supporting the government’s efforts by ensuring timely payment of taxes and levies, which would, in turn, facilitate further market development.

Ambassador Dogon Nama also praised Governor Abba Kabir Yusif for his leadership and commitment to development, particularly for recognizing and honoring 35 distinguished Kano indigenes whose contributions have significantly impacted various sectors.

As Kantin Kwari Market undergoes transformation, traders remain hopeful that the government’s continued intervention will position it as a leading commercial hub in Nigeria and Africa.
