Sa’adatu Rimi College of Education, Kumbotso, welcomed a team of panelists from the National Universities Commission (NUC) for the second round of its accreditation exercise. The opening ceremony, held at the Provost’s Conference Office, was attended by the representative of the NUC Executive Secretary, panelists from universities across Nigeria, and the college’s management and staff.
In his welcome address, the Acting Provost, Dr. Kabiru Ahmed Gwarzo, highlighted the significance of the accreditation process in promoting credibility, quality, and trust. He described the exercise as a commitment to excellence, transparency, and continuous improvement.
Dr. Gwarzo noted that the college offers degree programs in 12 departments in affiliation with Bayero University, Kano, and Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. He explained that the exercise would evaluate infrastructure, facilities, administration, staff strength, and operational performance. He expressed gratitude to the Kano State Governor, His Excellency Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf, for providing the necessary funding to facilitate the exercise.

Speaking on behalf of the panelists, Professor Ahmad Hamma Song, the team leader, emphasized that accreditation is not punitive but a collaborative effort aimed at fostering growth and improvement. He stated that the process is designed to identify strengths and areas for development while upholding rigorous and impartial standards.
Professor Song added that the panel comprises experienced and impartial professionals from the NUC and academia, who will thoroughly evaluate the college’s programs and present their findings to the management. He urged the college’s management, staff, and students to cooperate fully with the panelists to ensure a smooth and successful exercise.

An exit report will be presented at the conclusion of the accreditation process.
