In a major push to revitalize Kano State’s education sector, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has distributed 789,000 school uniforms to pupils across 7,092 public schools in the state’s 44 local government areas.
The initiative, highlighted as a key pillar of the administration’s education reform agenda, was announced by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa. According to the statement, the program aims to foster an inclusive and dignified learning environment for all children in Kano.
Speaking at the distribution ceremony, Governor Yusuf reiterated his administration’s commitment to transforming the education system.
“This is just the beginning. After providing these uniforms, we will continue equipping our schools with additional resources to improve learning conditions,” he said.

Beyond uniforms, the state government has also supplied 53,000 desks to address long-standing infrastructure challenges that have hindered effective teaching and learning in many schools.
