During the Friday’s sanitation exercise, the state central sanitation committee has visited Kano state school of Hygiene, state water board, and Hasiya Bayero Pediatric hospital, in which he (the committee) commended the management of the organizations for living up to expectations, urging them to redoubled their efforts in maintaining clean and healthy environment.
“At the school of hygiene been the first place we visited today, we are happy with what we have seen, been the place we trains our environmental health officers, the only problem we see their is too much grasses at the premises of female toilet, we have advised them and assured us that they will clear it, so that the environment will be clean,” said Garo.
“This team also visited Kano state water board, their environment and toilets were clean with enough running water unlike many MDAs we have visited in the past. At Hasiya Bayero Pediatric hospital we are very inference with the cleanesses considering the large volume of patience trooping in to the hospital, actually they are trying a lots, the only challenges we see is more toilets is needed at the hospital, also the place they use to dispose their hospital waste is too far away and we asked them to discuss the issue with Kano state refuse management and sanitation board REMASAB to find a way of disposing waste close-by,” he added.
The commissioner urged members of the public to continue supporting the state government in cleaning their environment and make it free from communicable disease.
