The Dutse and District Society of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) has expressed its deepest sympathy and condolences to the families of victims of the devastating tanker explosion in Majia Town, Taura Local Government Area of Jigawa State.
This is contained in a statement signed by Sani Ahmad Sulaiman, FCA, Chairman, Dutse and District Society of ICAN and made available to newsmen in Dutse.
The tragic incident claimed the lives of over 150 people and left many others with serious injuries.
In the statement, the District Society prayed for the souls of the departed and quick recovery for those injured.
“We are deeply saddened by this unfortunate incident and stand in solidarity with the affected families and the people of Jigawa State,” Sulaiman said.

The ICAN Dutse District also commiserated with Governor Umar A. Namadi, FCA, Chairman of Taura Local Government, Emir of Ringim Alh. (Dr.) Sayyadi Mahmud Usman, CON, and District Head of Majia.
The District prayed to Almighty Allah to prevent such incidents in the future.
This gesture demonstrates the Institute’s commitment to supporting the community during difficult times.
Recall that the tanker explosion occurred on October 15, 2024, in Majia Town, resulting in widespread destruction and loss of life.
Authorities have begun investigating the cause of the accident.
The Jigawa State Government has promised to provide aid to affected families. The government urged residents to remain calm and cooperative during the investigation.
