Senator Sulaiman Abdurrahman Kawu Sumaila, representing Kano South, has strongly criticized the government of President Bola Tinubu for its failure to protect the lives and property of Nigerian citizens.
The Nation Newspaper reports that Senator Sumaila made the assertion in an interview with an online television station in Kano.
The Senator expressed his deep frustration and disappointment with the government’s handling of the country’s security challenges.
According to him, Tinubu’s government has failed to provide adequate security for Nigerians, leaving them vulnerable to attacks and violence.
He also challenged the leaders of the security agencies, questioning their ability to effectively address the security issues plaguing the country.
“The security problem we are facing is beyond people’s imagination,” he said.
“The government and security agencies seem to be clueless about what to do, and this has thrown our communities into fear and misery.”
In addition to his criticism of the government’s security efforts, Senator Sumaila also pointed out errors in the recently released budget.
“This year’s budget is the most mistake-ridden budget I have ever seen,” he stated.
“It is clear that the government is not taking the necessary steps to address our economic challenges.”
The criticisms from Senator Sumaila and the controversy surrounding Senator Ningi’s suspension are just the latest in a series of challenges facing the government of President Bola Tinubu.
As the country continues to grapple with security and economic issues, many Nigerians are calling for greater accountability and effective leadership from their government.
