Federal Government Declares May 1st As Public Holiday To Commemorate Workers’ Day

 

In anticipation of this year’s Workers’ Day celebration, the Federal Government has officially declared Wednesday, May 1st, 2024, as a public holiday. The announcement was made by Nigeria’s Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, as confirmed by the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Aishetu Ndayako.

In a statement released on Tuesday, Aishetu Ndayako reiterated the government’s commitment to recognizing and honoring the contributions of workers across the nation. She quoted the minister emphasizing the values of excellence, efficiency, and equity in the labor sector.
