Kano Vows to Revamp Sports Infrastructure for Global Competitiveness

 

The Kano state government has reaffirmed its commitment to the revitalization and enhancement of sporting infrastructure, with the goal of bolstering the state’s stature in the sports domain.

This pledge was made during an official familiarization tour led by the newly appointed Commissioner of Youth and Sports, Mustapha Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, and the Special Adviser on Youth and Sports, Ambassador Yusuf Imam Ogan Boye.

This was contained in a statement signed by Yusuf Abubakar Ibrahim, Information Officer at the Office of the Special Adviser on Youth and Sports.

The statement highlighted that the tour included several key sporting facilities, showcasing the government’s comprehensive approach to this initiative.

The venues visited included the renowned Sani Abacha Stadium, Ado Bayero Square, Mahaha Sports Complex, as well as the Kano Pillars Stadium and the Kano Pillars Office.

During the visit, Commissioner Mustapha Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso expressed his unwavering dedication to the development of sports infrastructure, acknowledging its crucial role in nurturing talent, promoting healthy lifestyles, and fostering community unity.

He emphasized that the Kano state government will prioritize the renovation and upgrading of sports facilities to meet international standards.

Special Adviser Youth and Sports Amb. Yusuf Imam Ogan Boye reiterated their commitment to creating an enabling environment for athletes and providing opportunities for them to join teams abroad, further underlining the state’s dedication to sports development.
