I begin with the Name of Allaah, the entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.

So many people with knowledge and yet so many deviation in our lives. So many people reading the Qur’an, beautifying their voices yet it goes not beyond the throat and that is why we are farther away from acting on the Qur’an.

The young and the general population of our societies are easily swayed by the superficial display of knowledge and that is why the contents of our study sessions is more academic than pragmatic. This leaves people thrilled by the speaker than having more Taqwa of Allah.

Again, that is why many people get disappointed when they come close to those that are consumed by the outward display of knowledge. Pragmatism in delivering knowledge in a manner that it will change hearts through sincerity of the speaker and the honesty of the listeners.

Tik-Tok an immoral ticking bomb

You see young people discussing the knowledge of a preacher instead of how that has changed their level of Taqwa. The essence of teaching the Deen is to connect people to Allah and not to attract them to the excellence of our knowledge.

Almost everyone is holding a Tafseer session, yet our understanding of the Qur’an is low not to talk of acting on it and reflecting it in our lives. Two things, either we are not sincere and are more concerned about artificial display of knowledge or there is a problem with the listeners.

The actual custodians of the Islamic knowledge are those whose appearance and demeanor reminds you of Allah and triggers Taqwa in you before they even utter a word. Today, we hear brilliant words and academic display with no corresponding actions from the speakers not to mention the listeners.

When we are truly sincere in our study sessions, people’s lives will be positively impacted. When you listen to the likes of Uthaymeen, bin Baaz (HR), Abubakar Gumi etc, they simplified knowledge despite their high status in the Islamic word. You could literally feel the sincerity in their voices and approach. Simple delivery.
