The Mercy Corps USAID-funded Community Initiatives to Promote Peace (CIPP), organises Kano Close out Community Peace Trust Building Events across its four intervention Local Government Areas of Fagge, Nassarawa, Dala and Kano Municipal Council.
The Trust Building Events were organised to promote continuous peaceful coexistence within and amongst communities in Kano.
Novelty Football Matches were played in Nassarawa and Fagge LGAs demonstrating promotion of Peace through Sports, while a Peace Seminar was organized in KMC.
Dala LGA closed out using Cultural Drama and Dances to demonstrate peaceful coexistence and promote lasting amongst the youths and others in Dala Local Government Area in Kano.

The drama held in Kano has the theme: “Promoting peace through community theatre, cultural drama and dance.”
This drama will bring people together irrespective of their differences.
CIPP has also trained Mediators in the communities to resolve civil disputes and mediate in conflicts and preach more of peace.
Hajiya Samira Wada, from Kano State ministry of women Affairs and Social Development, she said CIPP collaborates with the ministry to promote peace. “The community include: Fagge, Dala, Kano Municipal and Nasarawa.
She appreciated the groups for their efforts and urged parents to take good care of their children.
On his part, Abdullahi Muhammed, a traditional leader, urged communities to join hands and inculcate good morals among our youths to address issues of restiveness.
Muhammed called on the general public to go back to the old days.
Shehu Sani, Secretary of Gwammaja CIPP, thanked the organisation and urged parents to take care of their wards and build peace.
