Governor Yusuf moves to sack underperformed Commissioners

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf is set to reshuffle his cabinet, immensely to replace ‘poorly performed commissioners in the last nine months.

Besides, the Governor has directed the Secretary to the State Government to issue an evaluation templet to all the Commissioners to rate their performances based on merit.

Accordingly, the commissioners are expected to fill and submits the evaluation forms within ten days after which the underperformed would be relieved of their duties.

A release by Director General, Media and Publicity, Government House, Sanusi Bature Dawakin-Tofa, Tuesday said the Governor’s directive was based on policy of his administration clearly made known to the cabinet members during their inauguration.

Meanwhile, the Governor has launched new payment system Kano Integrated Personal and Payroll Information System (KIPPIS) for state civil servants and pensioners.

The new integrated payment software is intended to centralize government payment system in conformity with global e-governance system.

Unveiling the system Tuesday at the commencement of State Executive Council meeting at the government house, Kano, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf said the e-financing operations system was introduced to bring about integrity in governance.

Gov. Yusuf said the trust was to ensure prudence, transparency, and accountability in managing public funds and block leagages across government sectors.

Besides, the Governor stressed that with the new e-tracking financing, all payment will henceforth centralise across state parastata and local government councils.

Governor. Yusuf urged members of the KIPPIS implementation committee to ensure the capturing of civil servants, pensioners and all political appointees for smooth and hitche-free running of the project across the State.

The state Accountant General, Alhaji Abdulkadir Abdussalam, said KIPPIS has the ability to sanitize payroll and pension systems using biometric technology, effective validation technique and it will rid the system of all excesses, infiltration, manipulations of any ilk, impersonations, and unnecessary deductions.

He added the Incorporated e-payment abilities will save government unnecessary bank charges, payroll payment problems, block leakages and engenders accountability and transparency in government engagements.
