The Federal College of Agricultural Produce Technology (FCAPT), says the sales of forms for the 2023/2024 session will soon close.
The Provost of the College, Dr. Muhammad Yusha’u Gwaram stated this in an interview in Kano.
He says the arrangement for admitting the first batch of candidates is already underway as well, considering those who applied to various courses this year.
The Provost, who was represented by his Deputy, Dr. Bashir Barau said the college would continue its effort to provide practical-oriented courses, as it is part of the mission and vision of establishing the college.
Barau added that the aim is to equip the students with entrepreneurship-related ideas that will make them self-reliant and also help ensure food security in Nigeria and beyond.

“FCAPT as it was established as the only College of Agriculture in West Africa, is a blessing to Nigeria and Kano State in particular, which has a significant impact on agricultural development.
“And as you can see in our symbol, as an Agricultural institution we also run courses that are not related to Agric but also needed in exclusive farm business.
“We are calling on interested applicants that want to study in our regular programmes of Higher National Diploma (HND) and National Diploma (ND) to visit our website at www.fcapt.edu.ng, and for part-time programmes the applicants have to come to the college campus, Plot 54 – 56 Central Bank Quarters Road, Extension, Hotoro GRA, Kano to obtain their form” Dr. Bashir Barau.
The Deputy Provost of FCAPT Kano says the college will not hesitate in its mandate of training students and extension workers in produce inspection and stored products technology for enhanced agricultural development in Nigeria.
“This includes vocational training in post-harvest produce handling, research and training of technicians and technologists and awards them with the relevant qualifications of ND and HND.
He added that the management of the college under the leadership of Dr. Muhammad Yusha’u Gwaram will continue to support their students in attaining their different goals in agricultural-related fields.
He, however, called on the interested candidates who are yet to apply for the programmes run at the institution, to come down to the main campus in Hotoro or visit an internet café before the end of this January, as the college would not entertain any further extension.

Federal College of Agricultural Produce Technology with a Campus in Hotoro Kano, was established in 2008 to train middle-level manpower in agriculture, post-harvest technology and agricultural produce inspection.
