Gunmen on Wednesday Nov 6, launched an attack on the Adamawa State Police Headquarters, creating a sense of panic among Yola residents.
The Police headquarters, situated in the Jimeta community in Yola North local government area, witnessed sounds of gunfire for about 30 minutes, as reported by Daily Trust.
Confirming the incident, Police Public Relations Officer SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje stated that things were under control.

Nguroje said the attack was repelled, but the identities of those behind it was unknown.
One source said the attackers were military personnel on a revenge mission, following the alleged killing of a military officer by the police.
The police PRO further said that investigations were ongoing to ascertain the cause of the attack and those behind it.
