The Emir of Zazzau, Mallam Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, has urged the Nigeria governors to prioritise the appointment of professionals as Secretaries to State Governments (SSGs) and local government administrators
Such appointment will ensure good governance, said the emir in a message during a visit by a delegation from the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria (ICSAN) in Zaria, Kaduna State.
The ICSAN delegation was led by the National President, Mrs Funmi Ekundayo.
The delegation, led by the National President, Mrs. Funmi Ekundayo, discussed the potential collaboration with the Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria to strengthen the institute’s presence in northern Nigeria.
The Emir, represented by the Wazirin Zazzau, Khadi Mohammed Aminu Inuwa, urged professionals to engage with key stakeholders to ensure that appointees to these key positions are not merely political figures but also members of ICSAN.

The delegation also visited the Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria for collaboration and partnership to further entrench the presence of the institute in northern Nigeria.
Ekundayo said the partnership would hinge on having a linkage programme with ABU to harmonise the ICSAN module with the university’s curriculum.
The harmonisation would enable the students to start the ICSAN examination while they were undergraduates and get dual benefits, and professional and academic certificates.
