A former spokesperson for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate in the 2023 elections, Daniel Bwala, has raised concerns about what he sees as conflicting decisions from the Supreme Court.
In an interview on Channels TV’s Politics Today, Daniel Bwala, “Our electoral jurisprudence is getting to a point where it is no longer what you know. The court is still predictable without prejudice to what you know and what is the clear decision irrespective of the matter.
“The reason I say this is because at every state of appeal you can point at two decisions by the same court that are contradictory.

“That is why some of us have started advocating with respect to the Supreme Court that the constitution of Nigeria be amended to deal with two issues. If the Supreme Court commits a mistake, is the law final because it’s the final court? There needs to be a constitutional provision that says if the Supreme Court delivers a judgment both the petitioner and the respondent will know the end of the matter.
“The second one is that the Supreme Court is bound by the previous decisions. Tomorrow I can go to the Supreme Court so that they may decide to go this way. The next day another set of people will come and the court will go the other way.”
