The Court of Appeal in Abuja has kept the political fate of Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, in suspense as it reserves judgment in his appeal against the nullification of his election by the Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal.
The tribunal’s decision, which was delivered on September 20, deemed 165,663 of Yusuf’s votes as invalid due to unverified ballot papers that lacked the signature and stamp of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The verdict led to the declaration of the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Nasiru Gawuna, as the winner of the governorship election.
Dissatisfied, Governor Abba Yusuf promptly appealed the tribunal’s judgment, seeking the court’s intervention to set aside the verdict.
