The Argentina and Inter Miami captain was prolific last season, having won 2022 World Cup as the best player of the tournament.

Messi, 36, succeeds Karim Benzema as the winner of the prize awarded for his performances last season, when he inspired Argentina to glory at the World Cup.
Following Messi, Erling Halaand was ranked second, followed by Kylian Mbape, third, Kelvin De Bruyne, forth, and Rodri ranked fifth.
