The Sokoto State House of Assembly, in consultation with Governor Ahmed Aliyu, has appointed Dr Mustapha Attahiru as the Clerk and Aminu Ibrahim as his Deputy.
This development followed a motion moved by the Majority Leader, Alhaji Bello Idris (APC- Gwadabawa North) and seconded by Abubakar Magaji (PDP-Bodinga North), the Minority Leader.
Idris cited the the provisions of Section 11, Sub-section 8 of the State Assembly Service Commission Law, 2015.
“In light of this, the house do administer the oath of office and oath of allegiance to the new Clerk and Deputy Clerk, respectively,” he announced.
Subsequently, Speaker Alhaji Tukur Bala, swore in the appointees, with unanimous support from the lawmakers.

After the inauguration, Attahiru expressed his commitment to uphold the integrity and respect of the assembly.
“We will continue to safeguard the rights and privileges of our staff to ensure the best legislation for our state,” he assured.
Attahiru also extended his gratitude to the lawmakers and the governor for their confidence in him, pledging to remain dedicated to the success of the government.
