The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has announced that one of the female prospective corps members who were abducted in Zamfara, along with the bus driver, has been successfully released.
According to a statement signed by Eddy Megwa, the Director of Press and Public Relations for the NYSC, the release was made possible with the assistance of security agencies on October 20, 2023, at approximately 12:30 pm.
The NYSC expressed confidence in the collaborative efforts of security agencies, indicating hope for the safe release of the remaining prospective corps members who are still in captivity.

The statement urged both current and prospective corps members. It urged them to always prioritize their personal security and safety.
The NYSC also emphasized its unwavering commitment to upholding the security and welfare of corps members under its care at all times.
