Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, the representative of Anambra South under the Young Progressive Party (YPP), has shifted his allegiance to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
The announcement of his defection was communicated through a letter addressed to the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, and subsequently read out in the Senate Chamber on Thursday.

Ubah, who had secured re-election for a second term under the YPP in previous elections, explained in his letter that his decision to change parties was rooted in the insurmountable internal disagreements within his former political home.
At the time of filing this report, Senator Ubah had not responded to a WhatsApp message sent to his phone number regarding the defection.
