Global music sensation, AKON, has been announced as the host for the final draw of the CAF Africa Cup of Nations Cote d’Ivoire 2023.
The draw is scheduled to take place in Abidjan on Thursday.
The final draw will commence at 19h00 local time/GMT (21h00 CAT, 22h00 Cairo) at the new Parc Des Expositions venue in Abidjan. This event will be broadcast live on CAF TV’s YouTube channel.
AKON, known not only for his music but also for his social activism through projects like ‘Akon Lighting Africa,’ is a notable football enthusiast.
His project aims to provide solar electricity to meet the basic electricity needs of African countries.
AKON’s presence as the host, alongside Touré, is expected to bring even more star power to this highly anticipated occasion.

During the final draw, the 24 qualified nations will discover their group stage opponents.
The draw will be broadcast in more than 50 countries, with millions of viewers expected to watch it on CAF’s Official YouTube channel and various Global TV partners.
The 34th edition of the Africa Cup of Nations, the largest football event on the continent, is scheduled to take place in Cote d’Ivoire from January 13 to February 11, 2024.
