Kano Assembly to Reward Tricycle Rider Who Returned Missing N15m to Owner

Members of the Kano State House of Assembly (KNHA) have pledged to contribute a portion of their salaries to reward a young tricycle rider who displayed remarkable honesty by returning N15 million to its Chadian owner in Kano.

This decision came following a motion for personal explanation presented by Alhaji Salisu Muhammad, a representative of Doguwa constituency, during a plenary session led by Speaker Alhaji Isma’il Jibril Falgore, according to a Daily Trust report.

The publication had reported that 22-year-old Auwalu Salisu returned a sum of N15 million that had been inadvertently left in his tricycle to its Chadian owner.

Muhammad argued during the plenary that the tricycle rider had demonstrated remarkable integrity by returning the lost money, despite his family’s modest means and the prevailing economic challenges in the country.

In response, Speaker Falgore announced that the assembly would invite the tricycle rider to receive their collective donation.

All 40 members representing Kano’s 44 local government areas supported the motion and expressed their commitment to support Auwalu as a way to acknowledge his exemplary character and encourage others to follow suit.

Additionally, the House adopted a motion to convert a vocational training center in the Gwarmai area of the state into a government technical college in Ghari Local Government Area.

Alhaji Garba Ya’u Gwarmai, the representative of Ghari/Tsanyawa, proposed the elevation to enhance educational standards in Kano North and the entire state.

Following deliberations, the House endorsed the motion and called upon the state government to upgrade the school to a technical college.

The House concluded its session, adjourning until the following Tuesday, as proposed by the Majority Leader, Alhaji Lawan Hussaini Dala.
