The Kano State House of Assembly has imposed a three-month suspension on Khalid Ishaq Diso, the Chairman of Gwale Local Government Council over alledged unauthorized land sales and unilateral decision-making.
This decision came following the adoption of a report by the assembly’s committee on local government and chieftaincy affairs during a plenary session on Tuesday.
The suspension stems from allegations of unauthorized land sales and unilateral decision-making by Chairman Khalid Ishaq Diso without proper consultations.

The assembly revealed that six out of ten councilors had petitioned the House to express their discomfort with the chairman’s actions.

Therefore, the House set up an ad hoc committee to investigate the allegations and report back in two months and directed the vice-chairman to take over for the three months until the investigation is completed.
