At least 12 persons have reportedly died a boat mishap on River Kogi Kungra Kamfani, in Arikiya, Lafia Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.
The ill-fated boat was carrying a total of 19 passengers, tragically resulting in the loss of 12 lives.
The victims, comprising men and women, were on their way to their farm when the tragic event unfolded.
In response to this heart-wrenching incident, the state House of Assembly expressed their deep condolences.
Describing the incident as a profound loss to the state, the lawmakers conveyed their sympathies to the state government, Lafia local government, and the grieving families of the deceased.

The lawmakers condoled with the state government, Lafia local government and the families of the deceased over the death of 12 people at a river Kogi Kungra Kamfani in Arikiya, Lafia Local Government Area of the State.
Speaker Ibrahim Abdullahi, speaking on behalf of the assembly members and the people of Nasarawa, lamented the tragic event. He stated, “It is very sad that we lost 12 people, comprising men and women in a boat mishap in Arikiya, Lafia LGA.

“On behalf of myself, members, staff, and the entire Nasarawa people, we condole with the bereaved families, Lafia LGA, and the state government over their death. We pray for the repose of their souls.”
