Kano State witnessed a gathering of numerous political leaders today as Deputy Senate President, Jibrin Barau, and Deputy Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Aliyu Madaki, celebrated the wedding of their son and daughter.
Vice President Kashim Shettima, Senate President Godswill Akpabio and Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi were among the notable figures in attendance as Abdullahi exchanged vows with his fiancée, Bilkisu Aliyu Sani Madaki.
During the ceremony, Vice President Shettima played the role of the groom’s Wali, representing the family to solemnize the marriage oath. He also presented a dowry of N500,000.
GOOD EVENING NIGERIA reports that members from the four major parties in Nigeria – All Progressive Congress (APC), People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Labour Party (LP) and the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) were present at the event.
The groom and bribe’s parents are members of APC and NNPP respectively.
Meanwhile, APC, PDP and LP are in legal battle, claiming victory to the 25 February presidential election, which was won by Bola Tinubu of the APC.
Both Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP) have challenged the outcome of the election and submitted petitions to contest Tinubu’s victory.

Notable among the dignitaries are also, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, Senator Ali Ndume, Kawu Sumaila, members of the Kano Executive Council, governors, and prominent politicians.
