Tottenham Hotspur has granted England captain Harry Kane permission to travel to Germany for a medical with Bayern Munich.
The two clubs reached an agreement worth more than 100 million euros (£86.4 million) for the 30-year-old striker on Thursday.
Tottenham, recognizing Kane’s valuable contributions as their all-time leading goal scorer with 280 goals in 435 appearances, allowed him the final say on the move.
With one year remaining on his contract, Kane’s departure was inevitable, and the deal is expected to be finalized in time for the Bundesliga season’s commencement next week.
The decision ends months of speculation and discussions that have spanned most of the summer. Although Kane was initially linked to a potential move to Manchester United, the Bayern Munich deal gained traction.

The move was facilitated by Tottenham Chairman Daniel Levy’s willingness to reach an agreement, addressing concerns of potentially selling to another Premier League club.
Kane’s presence in Tottenham’s pre-season tour of Australia and Southeast Asia indicated the ongoing negotiations with Bayern Munich.
With the move, Kane joins Bayern Munich, who clinched their 33rd Bundesliga title last season and boasts a history of six Champions League victories and 20 German Cup wins.

The accomplished striker, with 213 Premier League goals from 320 games, will now aim to make an impact in the German league while maintaining his pursuit of breaking Alan Shearer’s Premier League scoring record.
