The Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ahmed Audi, revealed that a total of 100 illegal refineries have been eradicated and 200 suspects apprehended within the past two years.
Audi said this during the second CG’s conference held in Abuja.
Highlighting the organization’s accomplishments, the CG emphasized, “Over 100 illegal refineries destroyed and over 200 suspects arrested in two years.” He urged all NSCDC personnel to remain resolute in their efforts to combat oil theft and pipeline vandalism.
The Commandant General underscored the forthcoming challenges and the imperative to effectively address emerging security concerns.
Audi asserted, “We also need to intensify our efforts in the protection of critical national assets and infrastructure, tackle the challenge of oil theft and pipeline vandalism, ensure protection of farmers and farmland to guarantee food security, protect facilities in the power, telecoms and transportation sector with an emphasis on rail infrastructure, among others.”

In light of these objectives, he stressed the need for innovative strategies in addressing the escalating insecurity in the nation. The NSCDC, Audi stated, is committed to prioritizing training and retraining initiatives and acquiring contemporary operational and communication equipment to bolster the organization’s capabilities.
Audi reiterated the NSCDC’s commitment to proactively combat threats through covert and overt operations, meticulous investigations, and intelligence gathering. He emphasized the significance of apprehending those involved in activities that undermine the security and integrity of the nation.
The Commandant General concluded by expressing his unwavering support for the dedicated operatives of the NSCDC.
