Kano Gov. Appoints BUK Lecturers Abubakar Minjibir, Maigari Indabawa, 13 Others As Heads Of Agencies, Institutions

Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has granted approval for the appointment of new heads of government agencies.

A press release from Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, revealed on Monday that those selected for the positions include two lecturers from Bayero University, Kano, Department of Mass Communication, Dr. Abubakar Shehu Minjibir and Dr. Maigari Indabawa, who were appointed as Director of the Kano State Institute of Development Journalism and Director of the Kano State Film Institute, Tiga, respectively.

The appointments also include, Hon. Kabiru Getso Haruna, who will serve as the Executive Secretary of the Kano State Scholarship Board. Prof. Aliyu Isa Aliyu has been appointed as the Director General of the Kano State Bureau of Statistics, while Dr. Kabiru Ado Zakirai will take on the role of Executive Secretary of the Kano State Senior Secondary Schools Management Board (KSSMB).

Additionally, Hon. Alkasim Hussain Wudil has been assigned the position of Coordinator for the Aliko Dangote Skills Acquisition Centre.

As per the statement, others named in the appointments are Farouq Abdu Sumaila, chosen as the Executive Secretary of the Kano State Guidance and Counselling Board; Alh. Umar Shehu Minjibir, designated as the Chairman of the Kano State Civil Service Commission; CP Kabiru Muhammad Gwarzo, Rtd., who will assume the role of Director General of the Kano State Corporate Security Institute, Gabasawa; Dr. Abdullahi Garba Ali, who has been named Director of the Kano Informatics Institute, Kura; and Hajia Shema’u Aliyu, selected as Director of the Kano State Institute of Hospitality Management.

The release further conveyed the appointments of Dr. Musa Sa’ad Muhammad, who will serve as Director of the State Sports Institute, Karfi; Abdullahi S. Abdulkadir, chosen as Director of the Kano State Institute of Farm Mechanisation, Kadawa; Jazuli Muhammad Bichi, appointed Director of the Kano State Institute of Livestock, Gargai; and Kabiru Yusuf, selected as Director of the Kano State Institute of Fisheries, Bagauda.

GOOD EVENING NIGERIA reports that these appointments are set to take effect immediately, with the new appointees directed to assume their responsibilities within the next 48 hours following this announcement.

The statement read, “In our resolve to ensure a more efficient government in Kano. I have approved the appointment of the following heads of government agencies and institutions:

The appointments take effect immediately.”
