The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has issued a stern seven-day ultimatum to the Federal Government, demanding the reversal of what they perceive as anti-poor policies. Failure to comply will result in an indefinite nationwide strike commencing on August 2.
Among the policies in question is the recent increase in the pump price of petrol.
The NLC has instructed all its affiliates and state councils to swiftly commence mobilization efforts, rallying workers, and other Nigerians, along with civil society allies, in preparation for a sustained strike and mass protests should the government fail to meet their demands.
